ETOHA-OPEN - Emerging Health Threats and the One Health Approach

Acronym: ETOHA-OPEN

Description

This collection contains the public datasets produced in the Emerging Health Threats and the One Health Approach project. Emerging health threats in form of pandemics, pose a permanent public health threat due to their potential for rapid uncontrolled global spread. The One Health concept suggests a holistic view of the interface between human, animal, and environment. The concept can help the design and implementation of programmes, policies, legislation and research to improve public health in the EU. Zoonotic diseases is an area of major importance in this context. Understanding the underlying processes that govern transmission of respiratory and vector-borne infectious diseases are paramount in developing strategies, plans and tools for prevention, preparedness and response to these emerging health threats.
